The Golden Ball
Sphaira, the golden ball that begins the fairytale – the emphatic moment when the ball slots into waiting hands. This began life as part of an interactive art project a friend designed – a gumball machine that dispensed these large, wooden beads, engraved with whimsical and true things. Mine says, in homage to Woody Guthrie, “This machine queers fascists.”
